Generative and collaborative Peer Learning Community for Mathematics (Elementary)
Welcome to our community of passionate elementary school mathematics educators. As we move further away from longstanding uninspiring practices, we endeavour to make math a more enjoyable and enduring love for our students. How can we do this? By accessing the best resources available to us, we can design math experiences that will challenge, engage and inspire students to explore for themselves. Using provocations and approaches to learning, designing authentic assessments and reducing our reliance on outdated practices, we can change how we and students perceive ourselves as mathematicians.

Garrett Walsh
Originally from Ireland, Garrett Walsh has been working in international schools for 34 years, spanning nine countries. Over the course of his career, Garrett has held various leadership roles, including PYP Coordinator, Workshop Leader, and Grade Level Leader. Having worked predominantly in IBPYP schools, he brings a deep passion for inquiry and concept-based learning, which he applies across a variety of curricula.
Garrett is deeply committed to fostering meaningful and effective math pedagogy in international education. He is both passionate and concerned about the current direction of math instruction and is dedicated to collaborating with educators to drive positive change and innovation in teaching practices.
