Bill Minty

Bill is the head of the Learning English with Accelerated Progress (LEAP) and EAL programs at St Andrews International School, Green Valley in Thailand. He is from Sydney, Australia and is now in his tenth year at his Green Valley. He has over twenty years’ experience in teaching EAL and other non-EAL subjects such as History, English and Business Studies. He believes in a fun, interactive approach to teaching EAL and is always looking for ways to improve his teaching and to enhance his students’ language learning experiences and success.

Shaila Samtani

Shaila Samtani is a passionate EAL educator who leads whole-school EAL provision at Stamford American School Hong Kong. With a postgraduate degree in education and over 20 years of education experience, she has developed a comprehensive EAL department at Stamford that offers customized programs to help non-native students develop essential academic literacy skills using technology and effective scaffolding techniques. 
 
Shaila has extensive experience coaching and upskilling teachers in mainstream English teaching. As a certified tutor trainer from Lexis Education and NASSEA, she has delivered several whole-school workshops and trained teachers, empowering them to embed language strategies in their subject disciplines.
